Recognizing that health issues know no geographic boundaries, NIDCR throughout its history has worked with others worldwide to advance scientific achievements. Collaboration in research, research training, and health promotion has been instrumental in advancing oral health not only nationally, but internationally as well. To help promote collaborative activities the NIDCR--

  • maintains relationships with international agencies and foreign organizations involved in global oral health research
  • coordinates dental, oral, and craniofacial research activities under agreements between the U.S. and other countries
  • encourages strategies to build global oral health research capacity
  • supports collaborative research programs and protocols in line with NIDCR’s mission

In addition, NIDCR implements international science exchange programs, sponsors and participates in international meetings and workshops, and disseminates research findings throughout the world.
