Scientific Conference on Trauma Spectrum Disorders: Effects of Gender and Race
This conference will
review the best existing science on trauma spectrum disorders that will serve the development
of evidence-based concepts and strategies the DoD/DCoE, DVA and NIH can use to better
assess and treat psychological health issues and traumatic brain injury, especially as it relates
to service members and their families.
The conference will be held October 1-2, 2008, at the Natcher Conference Center, Building 45,
on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Main Campus, Bethesda, MD.

The Envision Conference is a multi-disciplinary low vision rehabilitation and research conference. Every year, hundreds of professionals in the low vision rehabilitation field come together to advance the state of the art in low vision rehabilitation. Attendees earn continuing education units, learn new skills, network and share current research in the field.
The conference will feature four tracks of continuing education, workshops, research and poster presentations. The exhibit hall will feature vendors from all over the country displaying the latest in technology and services in vision rehabilitation as well as book publishers and optometric suppliers.

First Annual Women in Pain: Gender Matters Conference Friday, May 30, 2008 City of Hope Medical Center, Duarte, CA For Grace, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring the ethical and equal treatment of all women in pain, today announced it will launch, "Women in Pain: Gender Matters," a conference that will focus on the gender inequalities in the treatment and research of pain. The first annual conference will be held on May 30 in Duarte at the City of Hope Medical Center. City of Hope
and Southern California Cancer Pain Initiative are co-sponsors of the event.
