Insect Management
Red Imported Fire Ants

Red Imported Fire Ants (RIFA) are a problem pest throughout much of the Southeastern United States. RIFA is a problem for many people due to its painful sting and its attraction to electricity. Managing fire ants can be quite difficult. Understanding its biology and the management options available is critical to minimize the impact of this pest.

Many of the images available at this site are from the Texas Department of Agriculture and Cooperative Extension Service slide sets (available through the publications department), or the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service.
