HRSA
will accept applications until June 21 for cooperative agreements
to establish or continue five regional centers for health
workforce studies, according to an announcement in the May
22 Federal Register.
About
$1.25 million is available in fiscal year 2001 to fund the
five agreements. Each
applicant may request up to $250,000 per year in total costs
for up to five years.
Institutions that receive funds must match at least
a third of the annual federal contribution.
Eligible
applicants are state or local governments, health professions
schools, schools of nursing, academic health centers, community-based
health facilities and other nonprofit entities.
Experience and infrastructure in health workforce analysis
and research is required.
According
to the May 22 notice, successful applicants will serve as
a:

national
resource in health workforce studies;

resource
in health workforce studies to its state, region and rural
areas; and as a
-
resource
in health workforce studies for HRSA.
