Facilities
in 15 States Get HHS Health Care Construction Grants
HHS
Secretary Tommy G. Thompson today announced 17 grants totaling
almost $24.6 million to upgrade buildings and equipment at
research facilities, hospitals and clinics from Phoenix to
New York City.
The
grants from the Health Care and Other Facilities program,
administered by HHS’ Health Resources and Services Administration,
provide construction and renovation assistance to health
facilities.
The largest
grant – worth more than $9.8 million – will be used by the
University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Aurora, Colo.,
to build new research laboratories and other facilities.
