OGDEN, UT – Are you a retiree,
professional, homemaker, student, service club, or organization
looking for a little adventure and excitement? If you
like people and care about our country's natural resources,
the Forest Service needs your time and talents. Last year 11,801
volunteers in the Intermountain Region accomplished over $3.9 million
worth of work on the national forests. In this age of shrinking
budgets and workforce, it is increasingly challenging to provide
the service and care needed for the national forests. As a volunteer,
you can make a difference and contribute to this effort.
The Forest Service is proud to be an official partner
with the Take Pride in America (TPIA) Program. TPIA
is a partnership of federal, state and local governments,
community, youth and civic organizations, conservation
and recreations groups and corporations under the leadership
of the Department of the Interior. The purpose of TPIA
is to support volunteerism and to encourage citizen
stewardship of our public lands. You can receive recognition
for your volunteer efforts from both the Forest Service
and TPIA Programs. This partnership will also provide
you volunteer opportunities with other federal, state,
and local government agencies.
The Intermountain Region is comprised of national
forests in Utah , western Wyoming , central and southern
Idaho , Nevada , and a small portion of California .
Volunteers are needed in the following areas: ATV Patrols,
Backcountry Ranger, Campground Host/Maintenance, Facilities
Maintenance, Forest Fire (Lookout, Patrol, Prevention),
