This pathfinder contains electronic resources and information about embassies and consulates in Brazil and Brazilian embassies around the world.

The most important source for bibliography of books and articles concerning Brazil is the annual Handbook of Latin American Studies (http://lcweb2.loc.gov/hlas/) produced by over 160 contributing editors under the editorship of the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress. The Handbook is available in selected libraries in book form.  

One of the major aggregators for links to a wide variety of subjects relating to Brazil is the University of Texas' LANIC (http://lanic.utexas.edu/la/brazil/).

Brazil was one of the original founding nations of the Organization of American States (http://www.oas.org/) and that site offers various documents that can be searched relating to Brazil although there is no specific website for the Brazilian delegation to the OAS..

Information about the general consul and the consulate. Links to the agencies and offices of the consulate which include the public affairs section, consular (visa) section, U.S. commercial service, Library of Congress in Rio, and the Fulbright Commission. Other topics of interest are the politics and government section (a portal to the U.S. government), visas and visa lottery, about the USA (a portal to the United States), and holidays (American and Brazilian). The English language portion of the Brazilian goverment's portal includes a listing of all Brazilian embassies throughout the world. The sites are in Portuguese and usually in the language of the country.

Brazilian Embassy in Washington (http://www.brasilemb.org/)
Wide-range of information on Brazil and activities of the Brazilian Embassy in the United States. Topics include: Brazilian foreign policy, economy, environment, human rights, trade and investments, science and technology, publications, tourism, consular services, information services, cultural activities, news and media, Brazilian events in the U.S., and a kids' corner. Also includes a link to the Brazilian American Cultural Institute (BACI) which promotes Brazilian culture in the United States, offers Portuguese classes, and hosts performances, exhibits, and Brazilian films by Brazilian artists. The Consulate General of Brazil in New York offers information about Brazil and the consulate. Information includes news and details about consulate services, tourism in Brazil, cultural affairs, public relations, economic services, and commercial services. In English and Portuguese.
