Summary

Acquisition Operations Assistant - Responsible for the performance of Acquisition Services operational and compliance activities focusing on Acquisition System Process management and administration including (1) maintenance of acquisition procedures (i.e., practices, guides, instructions, manuals, etc.), proformas, forms, and related documents, (2) participating in periodic assessments, audits and reviews, or (3) responsible for providing support services in specific area of acquisition operations such as, Purchasing Card Program and Controls, Subcontract and Purchase Order Configuration Management, Acquisition Function Learning & Development, Contractor Assurance Program, or (4) other special projects or programs serving as a direct function of acquisition operations Including support to Acquisition Managers. Advanced level office position that requires knowledge of an extensive body of rules and extensive knowledge in specialized functions. Possesses a wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. May recommend policy and procedural changes. Errors are very difficult to detect and would normally require significant expenditures to resolve. Assignments may be completed without established procedures. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Independent in carrying out most regular job duties, and in interpreting data and information. Fully accountable for the viability or success of recommendations. Maintain standard, effective, consistent system processes and procedures (i.e., practices, guides, instructions, manuals, etc.), proformas, forms, and related documents providing maximum flexibility and minimum impact to the broad range of purchase order and subcontract management and administration requirements in support of LANL¿s complex mission; maintain standard, effective, consistent measurement and control techniques to ensure compliance (i.e., management self-assessment program, Contractor Assurance System implementation, corrective action follow-up and implementation; provide specialized assistance to the Acquisition Managers in carrying out their compliance responsibilities, e.g., complete file preparation and documentation, or, provide, on request, support service to the Acquisition Operations organization, e.g., d the Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL); support for the DOE / NNSA PERT Program, and benchmarking activities; or metrics. Ensure all results, processes, and final products meet quality specifications and are completed according to established requirements. Foster a mutually respectful work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Provide staff assistance to the assigned Lead, Supervisor, Manager, Acquisition Operations Manager, Project Manager, or Resident Manager, as assigned.

Education

Requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience or degree commensurate with required experience.

Pre-Employment Drug Test
