Vendor Outreach

We participate with the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), in a series of monthly small business vendor outreach sessions called Vendor Outreach Sessions (VOS).  These sessions feature pre-arranged 15-minute one-on-one appointments with a small business specialist.  These sessions provide the small business community an opportunity to discuss their capabilities and to learn about potential procurement opportunities.

Doing Business with the Purchase Card

DHS purchase cardholders have been mandated to use the Department of Defense Electronic Mall (EMALL) for the purchase of office supplies.  DHS has partnered with the DOD EMALL Program Office to make a tailored version of their EMALL available for use DHS-wide.  DHS EMall is an online ordering portal that provides access to 150 catalogs, 12 million items and 5.5 million national stock number items. What is the DOD EMALL?

In January of 1998 the Department of Defense launched an expanded internet-based electronic catalog system known as the DOD EMALL.  The DOD EMALLuses a powerful search engine to access product information from a wide variety of Government and supplier-managed catalogs.  DOD EMALL now has over 150 commercial catalogs (this increases each month) with over 12 million items available to our registered users.

How do I get my products on the DOD/DHS EMALL?

If your catalog is already available under an existing Government contract, then the next step is to allow the DOD/DHS EMALL access to your product database.  For suppliers who do not currently have a Government contract, three DLA Supply Centers that supply the bulk of common supplies for military departments and other DOD agencies write contracts for DoD E-Mall.  Each supply center has released a DOD EMALL Request for Proposal (RFP) for a specific group of federal stock categories (Federal Supply Classification - FSCs).  Each Center will award multiple Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts to manufacturers or distributors of commercial products.  (Note: IT suppliers do not require contracts).  Military services also write contracts and Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA’s) or, with a Government sponsor, some situations will allow open contracts.  Getting your products on the DOD/DHS EMALL requires that you do one of the following:

All E-Mall Suppliers must be registered in the  Central Contractor Registration database system.

Doing Business with TSA

Like our counterparts across the Federal Government, we utilize Federal Business Opportunities, commonly called FedBizOpps to offer opportunities. FedBizOpps is the single government point-of-entry for Federal Government procurement opportunities over $25,000.  We are able to publicize business opportunities by posting information directly to the FedBizOpps Web site at www.fedbizopps.gov. FedBizOpps also provides a vendor notification service that will send to you via email solicitations of interest.  To receive email notification of upcoming procurement opportunities, register at the Federal Business Opportunities Web site. You should register under the product classification codes that best match your company. Then select all agencies so you will receive notifications of acquisitions best meeting your company's profile from all government agencies.  All of TSA's requirements over $25,000 (that are not small business directed buys) are listed in FedBizOpps.
