New York Power Authority Names Jefferson Resident Lynn Hait to Regional Manager Contact: June 25, 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE GILBOA—The New York Power Authority (NYPA) today announced that Lynn Hait of Jefferson has been promoted to regional manager for Central New York at the Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Project in Schoharie County. Hait had previously been serving as interim regional manager. “The various leadership positions that Lynn has held during his many years of service at NYPA, as well as his extensive knowledge of NYPA’s operations, make him uniquely qualified for this challenge,” said Roger B. Kelley, NYPA president and chief executive officer. Hait joined the Power Authority in 1976 as a member of Blenheim-Gilboa’s maintenance organization. In 1995, Hait joined the newly developed Maintenance Resource Management division and in 2003, was promoted to lead the division. In 2005, Hait was named Blenheim-Gilboa’s Life Extension Modernization Site Coordinator to oversee a $135 million upgrade, which will allow Blenheim-Gilboa to produce more power from the same amount of water while extending the facility’s reliable service for decades ahead. Recently, the second of four pump-turbine generating units was completed, ensuring that the project is ready for the peak-demand summer season. A life-long resident of Schoharie County, Hait also serves as the Town of Jefferson’s justice, a post he has held since 1982. About NYPA: ■ NYPA uses no tax money or state credit.
