SUBJECT: Regional Development Seminar in Denver
The Office of Government Ethics (OGE) is pleased to announce
the first in a series of ethics seminars to be held in Denver,
Colorado. This seminar series is part of OGE's Regional
Development program which was recently initiated in the Denver
area. The first seminar will be held March 9, 1999 from 9:30 a.m.
to 3:00 p.m. in the Remington Arms Room, First Floor, Building 41,
of the Denver Federal Center which is located at West Sixth Avenue
and Kipling Street, Lakewood, Colorado. Please fax this notice to
any ethics officials you may have in the Denver region so they may
register.
This seminar will feature two workshops from recent Annual
Government Ethics Conferences. Steve Epstein, Deputy Director of
the Standards of Conduct Office of the Department of Defense, will
lead a workshop on outside activities and Lenny Lowentritt, Deputy
Associate General Counsel of the General Services Administration,
will lead a workshop on current travel policies and ethics issues.
In addition to these two workshops, Jack Covaleski, Senior
Associate Director for Agency Programs, will briefly discuss OGE's
plans for the regional development program in Denver and Barbara
Mullen-Roth, Associate Director for Education, will discuss
education and training materials available from OGE to meet the
initial and annual ethics training requirements.
This seminar is free to all Federal agency ethics officials.
However, advance registration is required. To register, fax a
completed registration form (attached) for the seminar no later
than March 1, 1999. Registration is handled on a first-come basis
and seminar size is limited to approximately 65 participants. No
telephone registration will be accepted. Registration forms should
