Potts Director SUBJECT: Luncheon for Regional Ethics Officials The Office of Government Ethics (OGE) has initiated a regional development program in the New York City area for agency ethics officials. As part of this effort OGE will hold a series of brown bag luncheons for ethics officials over the next year. The first luncheon will be held October 9, 1996 in room 3037A in the Federal Building at 26 Federal Plaza in New York City. The luncheon will be held from 12 noon until 1:30 PM. Our featured speaker will be F. Gary Davis, OGE Deputy Director and General Counsel. He will discuss recent amendments to 18 U.S.C. § 205 and 18 U.S.C. § 207, and changes to the widely attended gatherings gifts exception of the standards of conduct. He will be available to answer questions you may have and to hear your concerns about ethics issues. Jack Covaleski, Associate Director for Agency Programs, will briefly discuss OGE's plans for the regional development program in the New York region. Barbara Mullen-Roth, Associate Director for Education, will discuss OGE's latest educational materials available to agencies. Please bring a lunch if you wish. These luncheon discussions are free to all agencies. However, advance registration is required.
