MEMORANDUM

TO: Designated Agency Ethics Officials

SUBJECT: Public Financial Disclosure Review Training in Washington, DC The U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE) will conduct a four-hour training workshop on Public Financial Disclosure Review in Washington, DC on December 3, 1996. This training workshop will focus on the skills and knowledge required to review and analyze the Executive Branch Public Financial Disclosure Report (SF 278) to ensure technical accuracy, identify potential conflicts of interest and determine appropriate remedial action.

This training is offered free to each agency. However, advance registration is required. Each person planning to attend MUST register by faxing a completed registration form to OGE by November 19, 1996. Registration will be handled on a first-come basis and each class size will be limited to 40 participants. NO TELEPHONE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Registration forms are attached. OGE will confirm each person's registration by fax at least one week prior to the date of the course. Due to the volume of registrations, we ask that registrants NOT follow up on confirmations.

You are our primary means of advertising this training. Please circulate the attached registration form among your ethics officials as soon as possible.

Please note that this training is targeted at agency officials who have Government ethics responsibilities; it is NOT to be used by agencies in fulfilling their annual training requirements for employees.

For your planning purposes, OGE will offer other ethics training workshops in Washington, DC and other cities throughout this fiscal year. Once final arrangements are completed on cities and dates, training announcements will be disseminated to all DAEOs.
