Postdoctoral Position in Optical and Atomic Physics: The Neutron Science and Technology Group (P-23) in the Physics Division is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position in experimental physics in support of laser-based precision measurements. Areas of physics addressed in these experiments include fundamental physics, atomic spectroscopy, ion trapping, novel laser development and stabilization, optical frequency metrology and nonlinear short-pulse propagation dynamics. The successful candidate will work with a motivated and skilled team at Los Alamos on work being performed in collaboration with several Universities and research labs.
Required Skills
The successful candidate should have a background in one or more of the following areas: atomic spectroscopy, laser physics - especially CW laser stabilization, nonlinear optics, physical optics and RF/analog electronics.
Education
A Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field completed within the last five years is required at or near the time of hiring.
