FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MASSENA— The New York Power Authority (NYPA) is
providing a total of nine information kiosks at local recreational
sites. The information kiosks provide a map of the recreation
facilities (local and state parks) within the project boundary of
NYPA’s St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project. The kiosks also list
amenities at each site. Kiosks have been installed at the following
areas:
Waddington: Whittaker Park.
Louisville: Coles Creek
Car-Top Launch and Sandy Beach.
Massena: Massena Intake
Boat Launch and the new Hawkins Point Boat Launch.
Additional kiosks will be installed at Sand Island,
at each end of the trail between Whalen Park and Massena Country
Club, and another at scenic Island View Park.
To aid boaters, a chart of the St. Lawrence River
will be displayed on the kiosks at Whittaker Park, Massena Intake,
Island View Park and Hawkins Point.
For the outdoor enthusiasts, trail maps will be
posted at Whittaker Park, Massena Intake, Island View, Sand
Island, and Whalen Park.
All kiosks will have the hours of operation and
municipal contact information for the recreational site where they
are located. In addition, each kiosk will have NYPA contact
information.
