  NHSC LRP Service Requirements
  Question
Upon receiving a National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program contract, what are the requirements for service?
  Answer

NHSC LRP participants must serve a minimum of 2 years in full-time clinical practice at the site and in the discipline for which they were approved.

Full-time clinical practice is defined as a minimum of 40 hours per week, with at least 32 hours providing direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting.

Obstetricians/gynecologists and certified nurse-midwives are required to engage in a minimum of 21 hours per week of outpatient clinical practice. The remaining hours of the 40-hour per week total include delivery and other clinical hospital-based duties. Time spent on call does not count toward the 40 hours per week.
