Citizen Preparedness

FEMA is working to build a culture of preparedness in America. Being prepared is everyone's responsibility from individual citizens to businesses. The Department of Homeland Security and FEMA administer three main initiatives to achieve this goal - the Ready Campaign, FEMA's community preparedness informational materials and Citizen Corps.

Community Preparedness Resources


Region III's Citizen Corps program manager works daily to support state and local preparedness efforts. In the region, there are 144 Citizen Corps county and 60 local councils.
