Electrical Engineer
Job Description Electrical Engineers at NIH are responsible for electrical utilities, fire and security systems, and other electrical/electronic systems. Their work includes directing, reviewing, coordinating, and approving electrical engineering activities for facility needs and design projects and the design and development of plans for electrical systems for construction, maintenance, or repair projects associated with facility operations. Electrical engineers conduct field surveys to investigate existing equipment layouts and conditions, analyze system needs, make calculations, and determine requirements. They prepare designs and layouts of electrical and mechanical systems with regard to size, space, capacities, and economy and provide technical specifications for electrical portions of construction, maintenance or repair projects which are to be accomplished by contract. These positions require knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and methods and knowledge of related fields such as structural and mechanical engineering. How to Apply
