BOSTON, MA, USA: In a landmark move, the ICDL signed an agreement this month with Google to become the 29th member of the Google Book Library Project (see www.google.com/googlebooks/ partners.html). The Project brings together prestigious libraries from around the world including collections from institutions such as Harvard University, Keio University and Oxford University. The agreement allows both organizations to share each other’s public domain titles and will enable the ICDL to employ Google’s advanced scanning technology to scan public domain titles.
