International Saxophone Symposium

The 2009 Saxophone Symposium will be held January 23 and 24, 2009 at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. This year's soloists are Jean-Yves Fourmeau, New Century Saxophone Quartet, Senior Chief Musician Timothy E. Roberts, Chief Musician Michael P. Bayes and jazz soloist Antonio Hart. CONCERTO COMPETITION
United States Navy Band is pleased to announce the ninth annual High School Concerto Competition. Coordinated by principal hornist Chief Musician Eric D. Moore, the competition is an opportunity for talented local musicians to rehearse and perform with the U.S. Navy Band. This year's concert will be held at Chesapeake Performing Arts Center in Dunkirk, Maryland, on May 7, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. Last year's highly successful concert featured winning oboe instrumentalist from Montgomery Blair High School, Chao Xue.
