HRSA Promotes Health Tool for Young Women

HRSA has released a new guide to encourage physical activity and healthy eating for young women.

HRSA’s Bright Futures for Women’s Health and Wellness Initiative has just produced My Bright Future: Physical Activity and Healthy Eating Guide for Young Women and an accompanying wallet card.  These are the first in a series of tools that will be available in English and Spanish to promote health and well-being among adolescent girls and adult women.

The guide and wallet card, which contains key messages on physical activity and healthy eating from the new guide, encourage a dialogue between young women ages 11–20 and their health care providers and will help young women set appropriate goals.

Upcoming tools on physical activity and healthy eating under the initiative will include a similar guide for adult women, a set of tip sheets on reaching your goals, and a handbook for administrators on using the tools as well as electronic training modules for health care providers.

The guide and wallet cards will be available soon for downloading at www.hrsa.gov/WomensHealth/brightfut.htm.  Starter sets are available now by calling the HRSA Information Center at 1-888-ASK-HRSA.
