HRSA Awards More Than $1.9 Million to Study
Health Workforce Issues
HRSA has announced awards exceeding $1.9 million to fund 11 projects
supporting workforce research, analysis and technical assistance at
the state, regional and national levels.
The projects, which will examine health workforce issues in medicine,
nursing, dentistry, allied health, public health, pharmacy and mental
health, are being awarded to the University of California in San Francisco;
State University of New York (SUNY), Health Research Inc. in Rensselaer;
University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill; University of Texas in
San Antonio; University of Washington in Seattle; and Wausau Health
Foundation in Wausau, Wis.
In addition to schools of medicine and nursing, other public or private
nonprofit entities eligible for funding under this program include state
or local governments, health professions schools, academic health centers,
community-based health facilities, and faith- and community-based organizations.
Funding is provided through HRSA’s National Center for Health Workforce
Analysis.
