PKI and Directory Services

In July, 2006, Treasury was certified as a Shared Service Provider (SSP) for Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services. This certification, under the General Services Administration (GSA)-managed FIPS 201 Evaluation Program, authorized Treasury to provide PKI services for federal agencies. At the time of this designation, Treasury was the only federal agency to achieve this certification.
