The table shows a comparison of the latest available monthly and seasonal mean anomalies for these two datasets. The reanalysis anomalies are produced using the reanalysis data and its 1968-96 climatology, while the operational anomalies are produced using the operational data and its 1985-95 climatology. These differences provide one measure of uncertainity in these globally analyzed atmospheric fields.
