ITC MAKES NEGATIVE DETERMINATION CONCERNING IMPORTS OF EXTRUDED RUBBER THREAD

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) today determined that extruded rubber thread is not being imported in such increased quantities as to be a substantial cause of serious injury or threat of serious injury to an industry in the United States.

Chairman Stephen Koplan, Vice Chairman Deanna Tanner Okun, and Commissioners Lynn M. Bragg, Marcia E. Miller, Jennifer A. Hillman, and Thelma J. Askey made negative determinations in this investigation.

As a result of today's vote, made under section 202 of the Trade Act of 1974, the Commission's investigation ends. The Commission will forward its findings in this investigation to the President by December 4, 2000.

A public report concerning the investigation will be available after the Commission submits its findings to the President.
