The Walters Art Gallery, Baltimore, acquired by Henry Walters 43 illuminated manuscripts, paintings, enamels, bronze figurines, medals, and prints were included in this exhibition of small-scale portraits from the mid-15th to the 17th century, drawn mostly from the collection of The Walters Art Gallery, Baltimore. Works from the National Gallery of Art and loans from other private and public collections were included as well. The exhibition was organized in four sections: English and French portraits, Dutch intimate portraits, devotional portraits, and political portraits.
