Purchasing and Special Programs Branch | ||||||||
This branch is responsible for procurement of supplies and services not exceeding $100,000 for open-market purchases, and for any amount involving GSA contracts and purchases against other-agency contracts. The Purchasing Branch places blanket purchase agreements (BPA's) with authorized vendors for clients who plan to have a continuing relationship with those vendors. MRAD promotes competition in almost all procurements over $2,500. Purchases between $2,500 and $100,000 are generally reserved for small businesses in accordance with Government-wide regulations. Most routine purchases between $2,500 and $10,000 are procured through the use of telephone quotations from suppliers. All acquisitions over $25,000 are advertised in the Commerce Business Daily. This Branch also processes funds to other agencies for goods and services obtained through interagency agreements. |
