Policy and Programs

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is responsible for implementing the activities mandated by the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996, regarding the management and use of information technology (IT) resources.  Among the policy and program elements that the NOAA OCIO manages are:  high-performance R&D and scientific computing; support for OMB Exhibit-300, IT Capital Planning and Investment Control processes; enterprise architecture; Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution Systems (PPBES) process for IT; and IT Security.  NOAA OCIO guidance and other background information may be found on the links to the elements under Policy and Programs.
