Biography

Carole L. Turner, RN, MN, CNAA
Director, Women Veterans Health Program
 

Carole L. Turner is the National Director of the VHA Women Veterans Health Program.  She is based in VACO but spends a considerable amount of her time traveling around the country visiting VA Medical centers and presenting at conferences, seminars and women veterans fora on women's health issues.

Carole holds a BSN degree in Nursing from California State University and a MSN degree from the UCLA School of Nursing.  She is a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Advanced Certified Nurse Administrator.

Carole has been a professional nurse for over thirty years and has practiced at West Los Angeles, Sepulveda, Long Beach and West Palm Beach VA medical centers.  She has years of nursing administrative experience in long-term care, ambulatory care and critical care nursing.  She was a Captain in the US Air Force , stationed at Davis Monthan AFB in critical care.  She holds a lifetime health sciences education teaching credential and is a VHA Primary Care and Education Nursing consultant.

She is an advocate and champion on behalf of women's rights and has testified before Congress on issues pertaining to women veterans health.
