Noor Kirdar is a senior program officer in the Institute’s Education and Training
Center/International, where she manages and coordinates live and online trainings. Her training
workshops focus on developing negotiation, mediation and cross-cultural communication skills. She
also oversees workshops that are integrated with the “Strategic Economic Needs and Security
Exercise" (SENSE) simulation for government officials, including senior Iraqi officials, and
military and international organizations. In addition, Kirdar works on the design and content of
the distance learning program—a series of online courses in English, Arabic and other languages.
Before joining the Institute, she taught design and graphics at New York University and worked as a
freelance designer and compositor on various documentaries, movies and television programs. She
also worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she organized and coordinated the Annual
Central Banking Seminar for foreign dignitaries.
Kirdar holds a B.S. in international relations and a certificate in Arab studies from Georgetown
University’s School of Foreign Service. She earned an A.A.S. in graphic design and an M.F.A. in
