Abstract:

This study presents findings from a national survey of rural hospitals and the differences that affect their implementation of health information technology (IT). It focuses on hospital readiness to adopt health IT, current usage, and significant barriers and benefits to health IT adoption. The study includes figures, future plans, and possible policy options to spur health IT adoption.
