Abstract:

This newsletter promotes awareness of State and Federal policies and programs for the health of mothers, infants, children and adolescents. It discusses State and Federal activities, laws, programs, and other public initiatives likely to affect maternal and child health. The newsletter includes a special report on innovative State initiatives to provide health insurance to children, articles on the legislative debate to require prenatal vs. newborn HIV testing, new laws in Maryland and New Jersey to require longer hospital stays after deliveries, vaccination coverage of young children, and a listing of new publications of interest.
