October 2008

  • NEW The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Job Opportunity Locator is intended to be a simple-to-use tool aimed at NHSC Scholarship and Loan Repayors who are in search of jobs that qualify toward fulfilling their obligations to the NHSC. It features two ways to search for current job opportunities - by State (and optionally by county within a State) and within a specified distance of an address or ZIP code.

  • NEW Added the National Health Service Corps Job Opportunities report to the current reporting tool
     

August 2008

  • NEW The Community Fact Sheet provides on one page the characteristics about a community (county). These attributes are intended to assist a grantee (or potential grantee) fill in their grant application. What is currently available include: population (totals and percentages) with respect to race and ethnicity, income in relation to U.S. Federal Poverty Level (USFPL) (by age and household); uninsured; Medicare (elderly); and Medicare (disabled) populations; births and infant deaths; and teenage pregnancy rate.
     
  • Updated the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) report by adding the following new filtering options: "Is Only an NHSC Program Site" and individual filters for other specific HRSA grant programs.
     

July 2008

  • The Rural Health grant eligibility tool can help you determine whether a given location is in an area that is eligible to receive grants from the Office of Rural Health. The tool lets you search by address, or by State and county.
     
  • Updated boundary data for the Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) is now available. This update replaces the 2002 version with the latest available data, from 2006.
     

June 2008

  • HRSA's Find A Health Center tool now includes search-by-address capabilities, maps, and driving directions.

  • The Shortage Designation Advisor tool can help you determine whether a given address is located in any kind of Healpth Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) or Medically Underserved Area/Population (MUA/P).
     
  • The Health Center Cluster data were replaced with Health Center Service Delivery Sites data. (Why?)

April 2008

  • The new geographic auto-HPSA payment advisor tool can help you quickly determine whether a given address is located in one or more HPSAs eligible for the auto-HPSA bonus payment.

    • the State Profile report;
    • the County Profile report;
    • the County Detail report;
    • the Demographics and Statistics report;
    • the Data Sources report;
    • and the Data Dictionary Report (including the Data Dictionary Search Tool)
