Notes:
PURPOSE OF JOB: Under the supervision of the Coding Supervisor or designee assigns ICD-9-CM/CPT-4, E&M, and HCPC codes for reimbursement. Must be able to code Emergency Room, Outpatient, Inpatient, Observation, Day Surgery, Physical Therapy, and Optometry visits.
QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Health Information technologist, Certified Coding Specialist [CCS], Certified Coding Specialist-Procedural-[CCS-P] or Certified Professional Coder [CPC] - must have at least one year’s experience with CPC. Must have proficiency in reading handwriting of providers, computer literacy for entering data, ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with various health care providers, ability to work as a team member, analyze and evaluate material and train others. Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
