The El Paso international airport is centrally located with easy access to hotels, restraurants, interstates, and approximately 8 miles from the VA facilities.
Driving directions:
Exiting the airport go west on Airport road then merge right (North) to Airways Blvd. (Airport road ends at the boundary to the "Ft Bliss" military installation. This is not the installation that you want). Continue on "Airways" which completes a 90-degree left hand turn (West) at the entrance to "Biggs Army Airfield". (This again is not what you want). After the 90-degree left hand turn, "Airway" becomes "Fred Wilson" road and continues up the mountain to the entrance to "William Beaumont Army Medical Center" (This is what you want). There are two entrances to the facility. The Fred Wilson gate is the first gate you will see but requires you to continue on up the mountain on the installation at 25 MPH. If you continue on Fred Wilson to the intersection with "Alabama", continue up the mountain to the light at Mckelligon Canyon and turn left (east), you enter the hospital parking lot directly.
Sun Metro bus route 36 Beaumont via Highland is the route to use to come to the VA stop which is outside the main entrance to the El Paso VA Health Care System.
