Attorney General Brown wins Wal-Mart Agreement on Pricing Errors

Through an agreement with The Attorney General’s Office, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. will give consumers $3 back at the cash register for price-scanning errors found during check-out. After systemic scanning errors were found in 164 stores in 30 counties across California, the Attorney General's Office investigation led to the $3 cash-back settlement announced on November 24, just in time for Black Friday. On average, customers who were overcharged paid an extra $8.40 at the checkout.
