Mission

The mission of the Grants Management Branch is to support the advancement of research in the neurological sciences by providing financial and administrative oversight of public funds awarded to the extramural grantee community through pre-award and post-award monitoring.

Description of Services

In partnership with NINDS program staff, the Grants Management Branch has responsibility for ensuring the proper stewardship of funds awarded to grantee organizations. In carrying out this responsibility, GMB staff:

  • Serve as the business management contact point for administrative and fiscal issues related to NINDS grants and cooperative agreement awards.
  • Serve as advisors to NINDS scientific program staff, institute senior leadership, and grant recipients on the administration of grant and cooperative agreement programs.
  • Coordinate with other NIH and HHS offices regarding grant policies and procedures in the administration of extramural assistance awards.
  • Process all NINDS notices of grant award and serve as the primary prior approval contact point for changes to awards.
