Constance Werner Ramirez, Ph.D.
Director, Federal Preservation Institute
Prior to coming to the National Park Service in 2000, Dr. Ramirez was Federal Preservation Officer at U.S. General Services Administration. From 1977 to 1995, she developed the cultural resources management program for the Department of the Army. Since 1980, she also has taught preservation planning in various graduate programs in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. Educated at Wheaton College, she holds a master's degree in city planning from Yale University and a doctorate in urban and regional planning from Cornell University. 

John H. Sprinkle, Jr., Ph.D.
Deputy Director, Federal Preservation Institute
Dr. Sprinkle joined the FPI staff in September 2006.  For seven years, he supervised the National Park Service's National Historic Landmark Survey. Before entering federal service, Dr. Sprinkle was a private sector historic preservation consultant with a variety of state and federal agency clients. A graduate of the University of Delaware, he holds a Ph.D. in history from the College of William and Mary.
