Create a New Customer Account

Important!
If you lost your password, or have ordered documents from us in the past,
see the notes at the bottom of the page before creating another account.

Fields marked with an asterisk * are required.

Choose a user ID between 5 and 8 characters.

Include a contact person if different than above, or the department if applicable.
Phone number must be at least 10 digits in length including area code. For foreign countries include the foreign country code and prefix.

Fax number must be at least 10 digits in length including area code. For foreign countries include the foreign country code and prefix.

Public Service Facility (PSF) box numbers must be 3 digits in length. PSF boxes are used for delivering USPTO documents to local customers in the Arlington, VA area.
Enter street address or post office (PO) box number.
If applicable, include apartment, suite, or building number, etc.

Create New Account:

This page allows you to create a new account. Choose a user ID and password that will be easy for you to remember but hard for somebody else to guess. Remember your user ID and password. You will need them to log into the system.

After you have filled in the form, press the Create Account button and a customer account with your profile will be created. Your account will allow you to enter orders, check on their statuses, and download documents.

Once your account is created, you may later change any of the above information, except the user ID. Your user ID is permanently associated to your account.

Notes:

  • If you lost your password, you may search for your Internet account and reset your password.


  • If you ordered documents in the past from the USPTO Office of Public Records, Document Services Division, but did not order them over the Internet, you may search for your non-Internet account and enable it for Internet ordering.


  • If your account is suspended because of too many login attempts, please contact Customer Service to have your password reset and your account reinstated.


  • If you already have an account, creating a second account will not gain you access to orders in your first account. All orders remain associated to the account under which they were created.
