Supplier Diversity Program
The Power Authority voluntarily established its Supplier Diversity Program in 1983 as a
way of meeting its varied product and service needs with qualified minority- and
women-owned businesses. In keeping with our mission
to promote economic development throughout New York
State, we are committed to expanding opportunities for Minority/Women Business Enterprise
(M/WBE) participation in our contracting and competitive-bidding processes, both for
direct procurement of goods and services and through subcontracting opportunities.
Since establishing this program, the Power Authority has awarded hundreds of millions
of dollars in contracts to qualified M/WBEs for various
products and services. To be eligible for consideration, firms must
meet criteria set by the New York State Department of Economic
Developments Division of Minority and Womens Business Development. This agency
is responsible for implementing a uniform statewide certification program.
The Power Authority encourages M/WBE firms seeking procurement opportunities to submit
a vendor profile to its Procurement Division. For more information
