Accessibility Compliance

Grants.gov is committed to providing access to our site for all individuals with disabilities.

To meet this commitment, Grants.gov complies with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Section 508 requires that individuals with disabilities, who are federal employees or members of the public seeking information for services from Grants.gov, have access to and use of information and data that is comparable to the information that is available to federal employees or the public who are not individuals with disabilities, unless an undue burden would be imposed on Grants.gov.

Grants.gov web pages are designed to work with assistive technologies such as screen readers. If you use assistive technology and are unable to access any material on our site, we encourage you to email our contact center at support@grants.gov. Please help us respond to you in the most helpful way by indicating the nature of your accessibility problem, the preferred format in which you want to receive the material, and your contact information.

Grants.gov employs the PureEdge Viewer 6.0 and compatible version of Adobe Reader for viewing and completing application forms. The Grants.gov Program Management Office sponsored testing of the PureEdge Viewer and Adobe Reader and both demonstrated the viewer's compatibility with the widely used JAWS and Window-Eyes screen readers.

Please be aware of the following two issues when using Adobe Reader as you complete your application: on occasion the cursor may jump to the top of the form when you move a document to the mandatory document list. Also, there is no visual focus when you first tab into the list of available documents until the down arrow is used.

Grants.gov is working on these issues and strives to ensure site accessibility for all of its users. Our goal is not only to meet, but exceed 508 compliance standards. If you use assistive technology, are unable to access any material on our site, or experience any difficulties with accessing the forms contained with an application package, we encourage you to email our contact center at support@grants.gov or call 1-800-518-4726.
