The EMSC Program was authorized in 1984 as an amendment to the Public Health Service Act to expand and improve pediatric emergency medical care for ill and injured children. Information on the Program’s statutory authority and funding can be found on the EMSC National Resource Center (NRC) website (not a U.S. Government Web site). The NRC also maintains a list of online legislative resources.
