About The Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF): NDF manages all forestry, nursery, endangered plant species, and watershed resource activities on certain public and private lands. The Division also provides fire protection of structural and natural resources through fire suppression and prevention programs and other emergency services.

NDF State Headquarters has moved — State Headquarters is now located in new State of Nevada’s Emergency Operations Center along with the Division of Emergency Management, Office of Homeland Security, Department of Public Safety, and the Civil Support Detachment of the Nevada National Guard.

January 15, 2009 — The Nevada Division of Forestry is now accepting applications for the 2009 State Fire Assistance (hazardous fuels reduction) grant program.

January 2009 — Nevada Fifth Grade Educators: You and your students are invited to participate in the annual Arbor Day Poster Contest, Trees are Terrific…in Cities and Towns. Download information on the contest and an Activity Guide to teach your students about the important roles urban trees play in their community and to create posters based on the theme. Posters are due to Nevada Division of Forestry Carson City office by noon, March 9, 2009.

January 2009 — Christmas Tree Recycling Locations in Las Vegas — Recycling starts the day after Christmas and runs through mid-January. Trees must be cleaned of all non-organic objects.
