How do I process registration requests for other users? [Top]
In order to process registration requests for other users you need to have the "Administer Grant Users" permission in the context of the grant for which the registration request was made. If you have the appropriate permission, use the New Users link under Administer section in the menu to process the request. You can:
  1. Use the search option to look up specific requests, both new and processed ones.
  2. Use the view action history link to view the original request submitted by the user and other actions taken on that request.
  3. Approve the request - User will be able to access the grant handbook by default. More permissions will have to be granted.
  4. Disapprove the request - User request to access the grant handbook will be disapproved and the user cannot access the grant handbook.
During approval and disapproval of user requests the system will provide the ability to enter comments as appropriate to the action. These comments along with a standard message will be emailed to the concerned user.

What privileges are available in the grant handbook? [Top]
Following are the privileges available at the grant handbook level:
  1. Access Grant: Basic privilege to access an organzation's grant. This is granted when a user's request to add the grant to portfolio is approved. All grant level privileges are dependent on this.
  2. View Awards: Privilege that determines if a user can view the awards of a grant.
  3. Administer Grant Users: Privilege that determines if a user can approve/disapprove other user requests to add grant to portfolio and administer privileges of other users who have the grant in their portfolio.
  4. View Noncompeting Continuations: Privilege that determines if a user can view the noncompeting continuation application for the grant.
  5. Edit Noncompeting Continuations: Privilege that determines if a user can edit the noncompeting continuation applications for the grant. Requires corresponding view privilege.
  6. Submit Noncompeting Continuations: Privilege that determines if a user can submit the noncompeting continuation applications for the grant. Requires corresponding view and edit privileges.
  7. View Progress Report: Privilege that determines if a user can view the progress report submissions of the grant.
  8. Edit Progress Report: Privilege that determines if a user can edit the progress report submissions of the grant. Requires corresponding view privilege.
  9. Submit Progress Report: Privilege that determines if a user can submit the progress report submissions of the grant. Requires corresponding view and edit privileges.
  10. View Performance Report: Privilege that determines if a user can view the performance report submissions of the grant.
  11. Edit Performance Report: Privilege that determines if a user can edit the performance report submissions of the grant. Requires corresponding view privilege.
  12. Submit Performance Report: Privilege that determines if a user can submit the performance report submissions of the grant. Requires corresponding view and edit privileges.
  13. View Other Submissions: Privilege that determines if a user can view other post award submissions of the grant. Other category includes all post award submissions that do not fall in the standard categories of performance, progress and noncompeting continuations.
  14. Edit Other Submissions: Privilege that determines if a user can edit other submissions of the grant. Requires corresponding view privilege.
  15. Submit Other Submissions: Privilege that determines if a user can submit other post award submissions of the grant. Requires corresponding view and edit privileges.
The above permissions have dependencies described here.
What are the dependencies between various privileges in the grant handbook? [Top]
The following tables depict the dependencies between the various grant handbook privileges. In order to give a privilege listed in the first column, you need to give all privileges marked by X in the corresponding row.

Access Grant View Awards Administer Grant Users
Access Grant X
View Awards X X
Administer Grant Users X X

Access Grant View Submissions Edit Submissions Submit Submissions
View Submissions X X
Edit Submissions X X X
Submit Submissions X X X X

Note: Separate View, Edit and Submit privileges are available for each of the post award submission types (noncompeting continuation, progress report, performance report and other submissions). The privilege dependencies are identical for each of these submission types.
Can the task of managing new user requests and/or managing existing user privileges be delegated? [Top]
By default, the privilege to manage new user requests and/or manage existing user privileges, is granted only to the user registering to the grant as the project director. However, the project director can grant this privilege to other registered users of the grant in order to delegate managing new user requests and/or manage existing user privileges.

I have approved a new user's request to access the grant. But still the user is not able to see any of the sections in the grant handbook. Why? [Top]
When a registration request is approved, not all privileges are granted. Only "Access Grant", the basic privilege, is granted. In order for the user to access other sections of the grant handbook, more privileges are to be granted.

What if a user request is disapproved by mistake? [Top]
If a user's request to access the grant is disapproved, by mistake, the user can submit another request to access the grant. The project director or any other user(s) with the appropriate privilege, can then approve the request.
