HRSA Hosts Audio Conference on Youth Violence

Individuals interested in learning more about youth violence can participate in a June 26 DataSpeak Internet and telephone conference from 2-3 p.m. EDT sponsored by HRSA's Maternal and Child Health Bureau.

Titled International Perspectives on Youth Violence, the audio conference will compare trends in youth violence across different countries.

MCHB's Mary Overpeck, Dr.P.H., and Tonja Nansel, Ph.D., of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and Lloyd Potter, Ph.D., of the National Injury and Violence Prevention Resource Network will examine data on youth injury and violence and discuss the influence of the data on violence prevention efforts.

DataSpeak conferences are coordinated by the HRSA-funded Maternal and Child Health Information Resource Center to educate federal, state and local health professionals and others interested in data-related MCH topics.

DataSpeak is accessible for participants online or by telephone and includes a question-and-answer session. To register, contact the MCH Resource Center at (202) 842-2000 or visit http://www.uic.edu/sph/dataspeak on the World Wide Web.
