The National Association of People with AIDS, in partnership
with HRSA's HIV/AIDS Bureau, will sponsor its seventh annual
National HIV Testing Day on June 27.
The campaign encourages people at risk for HIV infection
to "Take the Test," know their HIV status and reduce
their risks for HIV transmission. NAPWA and other national
partners, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
support state and local efforts to start campaigns aimed at
educating the public about HIV prevention, counseling, testing
and referral services.
This year's event focuses on outreach to women, African Americans,
Latinos, young people, and gay, bisexual and transgender men.
