HHS Secretary Tommy G. Thompson today announced 14 grants
totaling nearly $6 million to upgrade buildings and equipment
at research facilities, hospitals and clinics.
The grants from the Health Care and Other Facilities program,
administered by HHS's Health Resources and Services Administration,
provide construction and renovation assistance to health facilities.
The largest grant -- worth more than $1.1 million -- will be
used by the Denver Health and Hospital Authority to build a
new facility for teaching physicians, nurses, emergency medical
technicians and others about injury prevention and trauma care.
