Abstract:

American Association of Birth Centers (AABC) is dedicated to the promotion and maintenance of childbearing/birth centers which recognize the rights of healthy women and their families, in all communities, to birth their children in an environment which is safe, sensitive and economical with minimal intervention. AABC mission is supported by performing evaluations of standards and care, supporting the development of birth centers, encouraging accreditation, encouraging participation of professionals, institutions, and families who support the AABC mission, working with organizations interested in wellness oriented maternity services and influencing policy issues at the national, regional and local levels.
