Abstract:

This newsletter reports on programs, research, and news of interest to public health professionals who are working to improve the health and well-being of the urban adolescent population. It includes information about the 21 Critical Adolescent Health Objectives that are a subset of the Healthy People 2010 Goals and Objectives ; the “Positive Youth Development” approach ; the National Initiative to Improve Adolescent Health 2010 (NIIAH) ; the HRSA/MCHB Partners in Program Planning for Adolescent Health (PIPPAH) Program ; programs of the CDC that assess and seek to improve health risk behaviors among adolescents ; and news related to adolescent health. The newsletter also highlights upcoming conferences and CityMatCH Board elections.
