Organization
The DI is comprised of 13 offices. Four offices concentrate on regional political and economic issues, six examine
broad transnational issues, and three focus on policy, collection, and staff support. The
DI also supports a selection of other analytic programs.
- The CIA Crime and Narcotics Center collects and analyzes information on
international narcotics trafficking and organized crime for policymakers and
the law enforcement community.
- The CIA Weapons, Intelligence, Nonproliferation, and Arms Control Center provides intelligence support aimed at doing all it can to
protect America from the strategic threat of foreign weapons.
- The
Counterintelligence Center Analysis Group identifies, monitors, and analyzes
the efforts of foreign intelligence entities against US persons, activities,
and interests.
- The
Information Operations Center Analysis Group evaluates foreign threats to US
computer systems, particularly those that support critical infrastructures.
- The
Office of Asian Pacific, Latin American, and African Analysis studies the
political, economic, leadership, societal, and military developments in Asia,
Latin America, and Sub-saharan Africa.
- The
Office of Collection Strategies and Analysis provides comprehensive
intelligence collection expertise to the DI, a wide range of senior Agency and
Intelligence Community officials, and key national policymakers.
- The Office of Corporate Resources oversees support to the directorate on a wide variety of issues, including budget, contracts, diversity programs, equal employment opportunity, facilities management, human resources, and resource planning.
- The
Office of Iraq Analysis provides multidisciplinary intelligence analysis
on Iraq to the President and his top advisors.
- The Office of Near Eastern and South Asian
Analysis provides
policymakers with comprehensive analytic support on Middle Eastern and North
African countries, as well as on the South Asian nations of India, Pakistan,
and Afghanistan.
- The
Office of Policy Support customizes DI analysis and presents it to a wide
variety of policy, law enforcement, military, and foreign liaison recipients.
- The
Office of Russian and European Analysis provides intelligence support on a
large number of countries that have long been of crucial importance to the
United States as allies or as adversaries and are likely to continue to occupy
a key place in US national security policy.
- The
Office of Terrorism Analysis is the analytic
component of the CIA Counterterrorism Center.
- The
Office of Transnational Issues applies unique functional expertise to assess
existing and emerging threats to US national security and provides the most
senior US policymakers, military planners, and law enforcement with analysis,
warning, and crisis support.
